Ibeji or Orisha Ibeji refers to the twin deities in the Yoruba religion. Ibeji is derived from the word "ibi" meaning dual or two and "eji" meaning one who will always be worshipped. They are believed to bring abundance, blessings, and good fortune to their devotees. The Orisha Ibeji is often depicted as two young children, usually identical twins, wearing the traditional Yoruba clothing, holding hands, sometimes with a small piece of fabric around their waist or wearing beaded necklaces. They are believed to have a mischievous and playful nature and are said to possess great healing powers. Devotees of Ibeji usually offer food, candy, and other treats to the deities during festivals and rituals. The Ibeji cult is particularly identified with the town of Igbo-Ora in Oyo State, Nigeria.
